GW Honors Kofi Annan

On May 5, United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan received an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree, presented by GW President Stephen Joel Trachtenberg. Annan delivered a lecture on the relationship between the United States and the United Nations during an academic convocation hosted by the University and the Elliott School of International Affairs. Annan emphasized the importance of increasing U.S. involvement to alleviate human rights violations in Darfur, Sudan.
