Regional Cocktail Soirees/Receptions

Throughout the past several months, the Law Alumni Association has hosted cocktail soirees in Washington, New York, Philadelphia, and Boston. The turnout at these events has been excellent, and they have provided alumni with an opportunity to meet other graduates in their region, as well as the chance to see old friends and classmates, and meet new colleagues. In the upcoming summer months, we have a variety of different events and programs planned to continue to give alumni more opportunities to gather.

D.C. area alumni from the classes of 1983 to 2003 were invited to a March 11 cocktail reception at Dragonfly. About 100 alumni were in attendance, as well as several faculty members.

More than 100 people attended the New York alumni reception at Zanzibar.

2004 Commencement and Old Guard Ceremony

The 137th Commencement of The George Washington University Law School was held Sunday, May 23. Prior to the commencement ceremony, members of the class of 1954 were inducted into Old Guard. The Old Guard denotes those alumni of The George Washington University Law School who graduated more than 50 years ago. At the brunch, new members were inducted into the Old Guard by the convenor for the class of 1954, Arnold I. Weber. After the brunch, Marion Edwyn Harrison, LLB ’54, LLM ’59, grand marshal, and the other members of the Old Guard led the academic procession into the Smith Center for the commencement ceremony.
