Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF)

The PMF is a two-year, post-graduate program for master's level graduates. The application process begins during the fall of your final year of graduate school at which time you will be notified about how to proceed. The Elliott School has established a competitive nomination process. Students must be nominated by GSCD in order to be considered for the PMF program. GSCD conducts a competitive screening process based on a statement of interest essay, resume, and unofficial transcript submitted by each student. Based on this information, GSCD then makes a final determination of nominees.

GSCD will be in touch with nominees throughout the rest of the process with information including updates from OPM, tips for the assessment, and an organized panel of PMF alumni for those who have made it to the finalist stage. This panel will help PMF finalists learn how to make the most of the PMF job fair and how to find a PMF job.

To obtain application materials for the Presidential Management Fellowships (PMF), please visit the PMF page at the Office of Personnel Management website. To obtain information about GW's nomination process for the PMF, please contact your school dean's office unless you are in one of the following schools/programs, in which case you should contact the specified individual.
