"Dan McLean will provide the leadership necessary to direct the new state-of-the-art George Washington University Hospital."

The new George Washington University Hospital will open its doors to the public in 2002.

In April 2000, construction began on what will be the first new hospital built in the city in over 20 years. The new $100 million, 371 bed hospital is being constructed across from the existing building on Washington Circle.
