Day-Long Celebration Features Constitutional Quiz and Live Reading of the Constitution at The George Washington University's Mount Vernon Campus

What was our country's first constitution called? Which constitutional amendment was later repealed? Find out answers to these questions by attending GW's Constitution Day Celebration, which will feature a reading of the historic document, refreshments, a Constitutional quiz, and an interactive educational fair with booths sponsored by university departments.

Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008: 10:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.

The George Washington University Mount Vernon Campus Quad
2100 Foxhall Road NW, Washington, D.C.

The Vern Express, a free shuttle service connecting the Foggy Bottom and Mount Vernon campuses, will offer departures every five to 10 minutes from both campuses throughout this event.  Complete information about The Vern Express is available online at

In 2004, Congress designated that every school and college receiving federal money must teach about the Constitution on Sept. 17, the document's adoption date in 1787.
