"Celebrating Change" Black Law Alumni Association Reception

The Black Law Alumni Association hosted a celebration Jan. 19 in honor of the presidential inauguration of Barack Obama and Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The event featured remarks from professor Spencer Overton, a leading election law scholar who currently serves as the principal deputy assistant attorney general for the Office of Legal Policy in the U.S. Department of Justice.

Belva Ann Lockwood Award Luncheon

The Law Association for Women and the George Washington Law Alumni Association honored Wilma B. Liebman, JD ’74, chairman of the National Labor Relations Board, as this year’s recipient of the Belva Ann Lockwood Award. The award is given annually in memory of the “irrepressible” Belva Ann Lockwood, LLB 1873, the first woman to argue a case before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Government Procurement Law Program’s Annual Luncheon
