Anne J. Banks, MFA ’68, showcased her collection of original collages, titled Secrets, at Gallery 10 in Washington, D.C. Banks says the collages are inspired by nature, memories, colors, landscape, architecture, and archetypal icons. “Secrets are mysteries hidden in the forms of art, subject to the viewer’s perception,” Banks says.

In partnership with the Montana Land Reliance, Nancy Dunlop Cawdrey, BA ’70, offered her original work, “Otter Lodge,” for auction at the fifth biennial Artists for Open Space dinner. The event helps fund MLR’s stewardship concerning critical Montana farmland, wildlife, watersheds, and ecosystems. In August, the Bigfork, Mont., artist also exhibited her newest paintings at Frame of Reference Contemporary Fine Art Gallery and at the Bigfork Festival of the Arts.

The McLean Project for the Arts presents a solo exhibition by Josephine Haden, MA ’72, titled Postcards from the Real, at the Emerson Gallery from Sept. 20 to Nov. 3. The exhibition catalogue includes essays by curator Nancy Sausser and art critic Donald Kuspit, along with 33 color illustrations of Haden’s paintings.

Jill Lion, BA ’63, displayed her sculpture “Sheep Rolling Into the Operating Room” during a March exhibit featuring regional women artists at Frederick Community College in Frederick, Md.

Washington, D.C., artist Joey P. Manlapaz, BA ’77, MFA ’80, presented her work in the annual Wendt Gallery Summer Show in Laguna Beach, Calif.

The oil paintings of Bradley Stevens, BA ’76, MFA ’79, which explore the human relationship with America’s threatened landscape, were exhibited at Zenith Gallery in a collection called What Remains: The American Landscape.
