ABA Annual Meeting

During this year’s American Bar Association Annual Meeting, held in August in Washington, GW Law hosted an ABA reception in the Law School’s new Faculty Conference Center. Guests of the well attended reception included members of the ABA leadership and Board of Governors, as well local judges and GW alumni.

Professor Stephen Saltzburg talked about the importance of the new space to the Law School. The faculty and deans are pleased with the additions begun by Dean Jerome Barron, LLM ’60, and continued by Dean Friedenthal and now Dean Young.

Curtis Boykin, JD ’93, greets retired Dean John Jenkins, JD ’61, and his wife, Marilyn.

Marc Silver, JD ’76, and Roy Baldwin, JD ’76, enjoy a light moment at the reception. Silver and Baldwin were class chairs for Colonials Weekend, GW’s alumni and family weekend held in October.

Professor Jack Friedenthal shares news of the Law School with Neil Smith, LLM ’73, of San Francisco.

Barron, his wife, Myra, Jenkins, and the Hon. Bruce Mencher share Law School experiences.

Young Alumni Receptions

Young alumni across the country are having happy hours and enjoying catching up with classmates in their area.

The photos here are evidence of a good time organized by Andy Dahlinghaus, JD ’00, of King, Pagano & Harrison, at a happy hour in Washington, D.C., in September. Assistiant Dean Alfreda Robinson—a perennial favorite of the students—also attended.

In New York, Scott Mory, JD ’99, and Nathan Williams, JD ’00, put together a very successful reception recently. Dean Alfreda Robinson also joined the New York reunion for a well attended event. Mory and Williams were working on putting together another fall event. For more information or to get involved, contact them via e-mail at scottmory@hotmail.com and Nwilliams@benetar.com.
