Wayne State University Law School Professor Kathy White gave a talk based on her paper "Inequitable Conduct After Therasense and the America Invents Act."
Mercer University Law Professor David Hricik addressed the issue "Does the Spouse of an Inventor in a Community Property State Have an Equal Interest in an Invention, Even From the Moment of Conception?"
Rounding out the spring lecture series were talks by UC Davis School of Law Professor Peter Lee, who spoke about "Transcending the Tacit Dimension: Patents, Relationships, and the Industrial Organization of Technology Transfer," and Professor Zoe Argento, from Roger Williams University School of Law, who addressed "What the Digital Millennium Copyright Act Can Learn From Medical Marijuana."

Transforming the Patent Landscape
The A. Sidney Katz Lecture this spring featured Teresa Stanek Rea, deputy undersecretary of commerce for intellectual property and deputy director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, for a talk on "Transforming the Patent Landscape: How the America Invents Act Is Building a 21st-Century IP System." The semiannual IP lecture series is generously endowed by the late A. Sidney Katz, JD '66.
GW Law Hosts Fourth Annual IP Symposium
GW Law hosted the fourth annual IP Symposium in May, co-sponsored by Mayer Brown and Cornerstone Research.
This year's topics included "Tips and Trends for Litigating Patent Cases in the Federal Courts," "A New Challenge: Navigating Inter Partes and Post Grant Review Under the AIA," "The In-House Counsel Perspective: Tips for Outside Counsel and Trends," and "Damages in Patent Cases: The New Models." Speakers included renowned jurists, professors, and practitioners with expertise in intellectual property law.
U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit Chief Judge Randall R. Rader, JD '78, delivered a keynote lecture at the symposium.
