This painting of Harper's Ferry, West Virginia is Frank Wright's most recent painting. It was commissioned by Capitol One Bank for the boardroom of its headquarters at Tyson's Corner, Virginia. The painting is 5 x 9 ft. and possibly the largest and most detailed painting of this historic site done in recent times. It was begun over a year ago when the hills were in full autumn foliage. At the point of convergence of the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers, the town of Harper's Ferry can be seen in the distance with the rocks and ruins of the old bridge in the foreground.
