Instructions for BBd Collaborate Ultra / Instructions for Zoom / Instructions for VoiceThread

Summer 2022 - Important message :
All French language courses (1001, 1002, 1003, 1004, 2005 & 2006) will be IN PERSON. There will be no online option, so students must attend each day.

Questions or concerns? Do not hesitate to contact the Director of the French Language Program, Prof. Marshall !

 

 

If at any point during the summer class is required to termporarily move online, note that it will continue to be synchronous, meaning it will still take place at the regulary scheduled time. Below are instructions for online attendance.

Instructions for Blackboard Collaborate Ultra:
If your instructor uses BBd Collaborate...
> Click on "BBd Collaborate" (leftside menu in Blackboard)
> Click on "Course Room" or on the appropriate session
> Click on "Join Course Room" or "Join Session"
> Allow all requests for access to the microphone and the webcam.
> Click on the "microphone"and "camera" icons:

NOTE: Please use your computer to attend class via BBd Collaborate so that you can participate fully (type answers, work with multiple browser windows, etc.).
If, in case of a temporary Internet problem, you need to use a smartphone or tablet, you can download the BBd Collaborate app here.

Instructions for Zoom:
If your instructor uses Zoom...
> Click on "Zoom" (leftside menu in Blackboard).
> If you see a new page, click on the Zoom link.
> If necessary, login using "SSO" (your GWid and password).
> Allow all requests for access to the microphone and the webcam.
NOTE: Please use your computer to attend class via Zoom so that you can participate fully (type answers, work with multiple browser windows, etc.).
If, in case of a temporary Internet problem, you need to use a smartphone or tablet, you can download the Zoom app here.

Instructions for VoiceThread:
If your course has VoiceThread (VT) activities...
> Click on "VoiceThread" (leftside menu in Blackboard).
> If you see a new page, click on the VT link.
> If you are asked to login, please contact your instructor.
> Click on the appropriate VT activity.
> Follow the instructions.
> To record, place your mouse over the " + " (bottom center) and select the camera or microphone depending on the activity:

VoiceThread works best with a computer, but if you would like to try with a smartphone or tablet, you can download the VoiceThread app here. Note that using the app still requires you to access the course Blackboard website in order to click on the VoiceThread link (see above).
