First Federal Congress Project Director Charlene Bangs Bickford obtained the funding for and oversaw the work on this online exhibit. Our graduate research assistant at the First Federal Project, David O. Porter, reassembled the illustrations from the original exhibit and scanned them, sought permissions to publish, and generally did the work of putting the exhibit in shape for the website designer. He worked diligently and efficiently to complete this project. The website designer, Chris Alhambra, experienced in both social science and computers, took great interest in what we were trying to accomplish and worked both efficiently and creatively to put up a site that is informative, accurate, and attractive. The teacher's guide was created by Carol Conrad, an experienced and talented high school teacher who was a James Madison Constitutional Fellow. Her very special creativity and interest in encouraging exploration of the subject matter is evident in the 'Guide.'"

The funder of this online exhibit was the MARPAT Foundation of Washington, DC. We are grateful for the Foundation's support, both past and present. The online exhibit could not have been created without the support of our three primary sponsors and funders, The George Washington University, The National Historical Publications and Records Commission, and The National Endowment for the Humanities. The National Historical Publications and Records Commission, and The National Endowment for the Humanities.
