The Bryce Harlow Foundation Fellowships are targeted for graduate students (J.D. students are also eligible) who are studying part-time while working full-time. Students must express a firm desire to enter the advocacy profession in public affairs, government relations, or lobbying. Generally, Bryce Harlow Foundation Fellowship recipients are studying public policy, political management, legislative affairs, business, or law. Applicants must clearly indicate the courses and specific focus of their studies that will lead to a career in government relations and lobbying.


The awards of $8,000 ($4,000 per semester) will help defray tuition and will be paid directly to the University.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Students must be currently enrolled or accepted for admission to a graduate degree program at the George Washington University.
  • Students must plan to be enrolled in part-time graduate studies for credit at GW for at least two semesters of the next academic year (Fall and Spring).
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
  • Applicants must demonstrate a substantive interest in, and potential for, an advocacy career in public affairs, government relations or lobbying.

  • Application form
  • Written statements 
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Resume
  • Undergraduate and graduate transcripts
