Eleanor Roosevelt Speeches
Pan-American Union Address, Track 1
April 20, 1944
Description
Speech to the Women of the Pan-American Union
Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Chairman [unclear], distinguished guests, ladies and gents. It's a very great privilege for me to have the opportunity to come and speak at this meeting. Through these representatives of South and Central American countries we have an opportunity to reach the women of these countries and to hear from them what they are thinking and feeling about the world as they see it around them today. It seems to me very important that the women of the Americas should have this chance to communicate with each other, to talk over the subjects that they think are important to them in the world of today.
