New Leadership Announced for GW’s Virginia Campus GW Associate Vice
President for Academic Planning Craig Linebaugh has been named the chief
academic operating officer of the University’s Virginia Campus effective July 31.

In his new role, Linebaugh will develop a strategic academic plan for
the Virginia Campus in collaboration with Roger Whitaker, dean of GW’s
College of Professional Studies, and Elliot Hirshman, the University’s
chief research officer. Linebaugh, who first came to GW in 1976, has
held dual appointments in the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences as
professor of speech and hearing science and in the School of Medicine and
Health Sciences as a research professor of medicine. In 1997, he was
appointed associate vice president for academic planning.
