GW Salutes CBS for 75 Years in Broadcasting

Photo Exhibit Continues Through Oct. 18

Noted CBS News luminaries, including Editor Ed Bliss and Chief Washington Correspondent Bob Schieffer, were on hand Sept. 18 to toast the broadcasting leader’s 75th anniversary. They officially open the exhibition of photographs from the CBS Archives entitled “AMERICA Through the CBS Eye,” on display in the Luther W. Brady Art Gallery and in GW’s Media and Public Affairs Building through Oct. 18.

The exhibition, curated by Pulitzer Prize winning photographer John Filo, director of photo operations at CBS, encompasses the most noted among the 20th century’s popular icons. GW produced a special catalog of the 140 images on display. Copies of the images are available for sale.

The final piece in the celebration is an interview with broadcast journalism legend Richard C. Hottelet on Oct. 10 in GW’s MPA Building at 6 pm.
