Colonial Confessions: What is the most important issue in the presidential election?

Jeremy Weiss, GW Law student

The war on terror and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are very important. I think the U.S. standing in the international community is in the forefront of people’s minds.

Jose Bernal, general services assistant, Office of the President

The economy. Our current president says everything is fine, but big banks are failing and my retirement savings are going down.

Donna Martinez, project director, GW HEATH Resource Center

Housing, disability, and support services, and the Community Choice Act, which provides individuals with disabilities alternatives to nursing homes and other institutions when they need long-term services.

Andy Sonn, director, Student and Academic Support Services Customer Service Initiatives

The economy is the most important issue. Recent events on Wall Street, the Lehman Brothers collapse, the mortgage crisis… The market doesn’t seem to be rebounding, and I’m afraid this could be the tip of the iceberg.
