GW’s Interfaith Iftar Draws Hundreds

Muslim and Jewish Students Break Bread Together as GW Hosts Fifth Annual Interfaith Iftar (October 19, 2006).

More than 300 GW community members gathered in the Marvin Center on Oct. 19 to participate in the University’s fifth annual Iftar, the traditional Muslim breaking of the Ramadan fast.

Organized by the Muslim Student Association and Jewish Student Association, the interfaith event featured prayers by Muslim and Jewish student leaders, halal and kosher food, along with remarks by President Stephen Joel Trachtenberg.
