Colonials Win First-Ever Game at Nationals Park
Thousands of GW fans cheered on the University’s baseball team as it defeated the St. Joseph’s University Hawks in the first game played at Nationals Park on March 22. Chairman of the GW Board of Trustees W. Russell Ramsey, B.B.A. ’81, threw out the first pitch at the new home of the Washington Nationals, and GW President Steven Knapp officially started the game with the words, “Play ball!” Nationals President Stan Kasten and Nationals Owner Mark Lerner, B.B.A. ’75, attended the game.
