Law, Education and Business Graduate Programs Rank Among Top 25

The George Washington University’s Law School and Graduate School of Education and Human Development, as well as graduate programs in law and business, are ranked among the top 25 in the most recent “America’s Best Graduate Schools” issue of U.S. News & World Report, a popular guide for students pursuing graduate-level education. The intellectual property law and international law programs placed in the top 10.

The GW Law School is ranked 19th on this year’s list of 180 accredited law schools, up one spot from last year. Among law specialties, GW’s intellectual property law program is named the country’s third best program for the second straight year and the international law program moves up three spots to sixth. Other highly ranked programs include the environmental law program, which places 12th, and the clinical training program, which finishes 15th. The GW Law School also performed well on measures of student diversity and earning power after graduation.

GW’s Graduate School of Education and Human Development moved up three spots to 21st out of the 242 education schools that participated in the survey and ninth among private institutions. U.S. News ranks the school’s secondary education program 39th.

Also rating among the top 25 is the GW School of Business’ international business program, which jumps four spots to number 21. The School of Business ranks 70th out of the 347 accredited master’s programs in business that responded to the survey.

U.S. News has been publishing “America’s Best Graduate Schools” on an annual basis since 1990.

According to the magazine, schools are measured using objective data (obtained by U.S. News from colleges and universities) and reputational ratings from experts.
