GW Engineering School Ranked Among Top 20 for Number of Master’s Degrees Awarded

GW’s School of Engineering and Applied Science was recently ranked 16th in the country for the number of master’s degrees awarded in engineering, according to statistics released by the American Society for Engineering Education. The rankings are based on the 2003-2004 academic year, when the school awarded 481 master’s degrees.

In 2004, the American Society for Engineering Education recognized GW for awarding the highest percentage of engineering doctoral degrees among American universities to women. In addition, the school ranked 10th nationally for the highest percentage of women faculty. Female students make up more than 25 percent of the student body at the School of Engineering and Applied Science, a much higher proportion than most engineering schools.
