GW's Season of Giving

Eric Gutierrez, multicultural counselor; Yvonne Orji, executive aide in the International Services Office; and Alberto Dominguez, coordinator of the Career Center’s Employment and Experience Programs, enjoy GW’s holiday party Dec. 11.

The GW community spread holiday cheer through a series of charitable giving drives. This season 140 families received gifts from 119 GW departments through the national Adopt a Family program; 128 pints of blood were donated by GW employees and students; the Toys-For-Toys campaign, run by the GW branch of NROTC, raised $4,800 and many actual toys; 1,200 cans of food were donated to So Others Might Eat; and 500 greeting cards were delivered to patients at GW Hospital and Children’s Hospital.

“This has been a great year for a great school,” the dean concludes. “The funds provided by the special endowment payout have contributed enormously to our academic initiatives.”
