Acknowledgements
Yvonne Captain, associate professor of Spanish and international affairs, CCAS, presented a series of lectures entitled “Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the United States,” in Curacao and Venezuela, March 11–14.
Harvey Feigenbaum, associate dean and professor of political science and international affairs, ESIA, discussed issues relating to cultural diversity as an invited speaker at the meeting of the Organization of American States in Vancouver, British Columbia, March 18–19.

Aseem Prakash, assistant professor of strategic management and public policy, SBPM, presented two papers — “Biopolitics in the US and EU: Race to the Bottom or Convergence to the Top,” co-authored with Kelly Kollman, and “Globalization and Governance: Examining the Contest Between Business and NGO Agendas in Intellectual Property Rights,” co-authored with Susan K. Sell — at the annual conference of the International Studies Association, in New Orleans, LA, March 24–27.

Lois G. Schwoerer, Elmer Louis Kayser Professor of History Emeritus, CCAS, has been named an Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Fellow at the Henry E. Huntington Library in San Marino, CA for two months in 2002–03.

Dolores Stafford, director of the University Police Department, has been selected “President-elect” of the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators. Stafford becomes the first woman to serve in this capacity.
