Teaching Award Winner, Arun S. Malik
A Tribute to Excellence in
Teaching, the 2002 Oscar and Shoshana Trachtenberg Teaching Award, will
be presented Friday, April 26, at 2 pm in the MPA Building, room B07.
All members of the University community are invited to attend.
This years recipient is Arun S. Malik of the Department of Economics.
This years Trachtenberg prize winners for research and service
are Cornelius Bennhold, associate professor of physics, and William
Parke, professor of physics, respectively.
The prize for outstanding undergraduate teaching was established in
1990 by President Trachtenberg in memory of his parents. A tenured faculty
member from the Columbian College, the Elliott School, or the schools
of business, engineering, or public health and health services, who
regularly teaches undergraduate students, receives the annual award.
The prize recognizes excellence in teaching defined as the accurate
and effective communication to undergraduates of important cultural,
historical and/or scientific subject matter, as well as current scholarship
and scholarly debate in the fields involved.
