Harrison Receives Slavic Salute


The American Association for the Advancement of Slavic Studies (AAASS), named Hope Harrison, assistant professor of history and international affairs and senior fellow at the Cold War International History Project of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, winner of the 2004 Marshall Shulman book prize, awarded annually for the most outstanding monograph on the international behavior of the countries of the former Communist bloc. Harrison received the prize for Driving the Soviets up the Wall: Soviet-East German Relations, 1953–61. Harrison is among 12 others honored by AAASS Dec. 6, during the 39th annual convention held in Boston.
