“The Kalb Report” Takes on Journalist Bob Woodward

Famed journalist Bob Woodward of The Washington Post appeared on “The Kalb Report,” Nov. 10 where he discussed the state of investigative journalism, his upcoming book on the war in Iraq and some memories of the Watergate investigation. Watergate put Woodward, along with Carl Bernstein, on the journalism map as they exposed a scandal that led to President Richard Nixon’s resignation.

Asked to assess the current conflict in Iraq, Woodward said, “The president needs to have his convictions and his determination, but he also needs to be the voice of realism. He’s caught in the position of defending what he’s done — and I think he probably feels pretty strongly it was the right thing to do — and also being able to change course if necessary. I don’t think there’s any sign of that.”
