Gearing Up for Midnight Breakfast at “Camp GW” Dec. 10

The Student Activities Center (SAC) is inviting GW faculty and staff to take part in the semester-end tradition known as Midnight Breakfast, Dec. 10. Food and fun can be natural stress reducers and that’s exactly what this biannual event is all about. Faculty and staff will serve a hearty breakfast to students from 10:30 pm – 12:30 am in the Marvin Center at J Street and the Hippodrome.

For GW students, stress levels may rise as the end of the semester nears. Midnight Breakfast provides a much needed study break and diversion for those burning the midnight oil. Designed as a light-hearted and fun way to help students relieve anxiety associated with exams and papers, the theme of this semester’s Midnight Breakfast will be “Camp GW.”

Martine Philogene, coordinator for student involvement, is excited about this year’s theme. “The theme ‘Camp GW,’ will entail a camp like environment where students can engage in activities, take photographs and have an overall experience that reminds them of what being in camp was like,” Philogene said.

In keeping with the evening’s theme, one of the sponsors of the event is GW Trails, a program providing outdoor recreation and education programs that incorporate physical fitness and healthy lifestyles. Other sponsors are the Black Student Union, the Student Alliance for Israel and Project Health.

Volunteers are needed for one-hour shifts from 10:30 – 11:30 pm or 11:30 pm – 12:30 am. Volunteers should arrive 45 minutes prior to their shifts. Please RSVP to Martine Philogene at 994-6555 or by E-mail at mlphilog@gwu.edu.
