NEH Honors GW’s First Federal Congress Project

The First Federal Congress Project (FFCP) has been designated a “We the People” project by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), an honor bestowed on those programs and projects that explore and help advance knowledge of American history and culture. A portion of NEH funding for this fiscal year has been reserved for matching gifts to support “We the People” projects, and the FFCP being named to this honor could result in increased federal aid for the organization.

The FFCP is a chartered University research center affiliated with GW’s Department of History that researches and publishes the Documented History of the First Federal Congress 1789–91. It also serves as a research center for the original session of the United States Congress.
