GW Hatchet Named Best Non-Daily Student Paper

The GW Hatchet won the nationwide “Best Non-Daily” college newspaper award at the annual convention of Society of Professional Journalists last month. The Hatchet beat newspapers from Middle Tennessee State University and the University of Central Florida.

Senior News Editor Michael Barnett and former Editor in Chief Mosheh Oinounou took first place in the “Online Spot News” category and were finalists in the “Print Spot News” category for their coverage of the death of a GW student in April 2003.
