Business Appoints New Airline Management Director

The School of Business appointed Mark L. Gerchick director of the Airline Management Graduate Certificate Program.

Gerchick brings 25 years of public and private sector experience to the program. As a private lawyer and consultant, Gerchick has advised leading airlines, airports and other interests. He also has served as chief counsel of the Federal Aviation Administration as well as deputy assistant secretary of transportation at the US Department of Transportation.

“Mark’s past contributions to improving the climate for airline and airport management in America will help ensure that GW delivers the best learning experience possible for professional managers seeking to lead today’s dynamic aviation sector,” said Douglas C. Frechtling, professor of tourism studies and chair of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, which administers the program.
