A Letter to the University Community About Emergency Preparedness

As the new school year begins, this is a good opportunity to learn or review emergency policies and procedures of the University. This is especially important as we welcome new and returning students, faculty and staff to The George Washington University.

Your most important source for up-to-date information on the University is the GW Campus Advisories Web site. Located at www.gwu.edu/~gwalert/, the site features emergency procedures, preparedness tips, health and safety advisories, and useful resource links. The GW Campus Advisories Web site also can be reached from links on the GW home page, GWired, UPD, the Portal, the GW News Center, and now on the new Colonial Mail site. If you’ve never visited the Campus Advisories site before, or haven’t been there recently, you’ll notice features that are useful assets. Please take some time to check it out: read up on preparedness tips; and review the Incident Planning, Response and Recovery Manual, which is now online in a new format.
