New Library Loan Policies in Effect
Gelman Library and its area university partners have enacted new borrowing
policies. Loan periods apply to all books from GW or other schools.
Faculty: three fixed due dates per year (1/31, 5/31, 9/30) with
a loan period of up to four months
Graduate students: 42 days
Undergraduate students: 28 days
Staff: 28 days
The following policies and charges apply to all patron groups:
Renewal limit: two
Grace period: three days
Daily fine per book: $0.25
Maximum overdue fine: $10
Lost book notice interval: 39 days
Minimum fine for blocking: $25
Daily recall fine: $5
Maximum recall fine: $25
Recall grace period: 0
Lost processing fee: $30
Lost replacement fee: Bowker average ($57)
Overdue limit: five
Item limit: 0 (GMU = 25)
Participating consortium libraries are American University, Catholic University,
Gallaudet University, George Mason University, Georgetown University,
Marymount University, University of DC and Trinity College.
