Six Selected for 2004 Bender Awards


Six faculty members will be recognized this fall for their excellence in the classroom through the 2004 Bender Teaching Awards. Mark Reeves, associate professor of physics, and Robert Savickas, assistant professor of finance, will be recognized for their innovative use of technology. Marsha Belenky, assistant professor of French, will be acknowledged in the full-time, non-tenured category. Zulima Alvarez, adjunct assistant professor of Spanish, will receive honors in the part-time faculty category. And Eric Cline, assistant professor of classics and archaeology, and Iva Kennelly, assistant professor of sociology, will be recognized in the general faculty category.

Endowed by Morton Bender, a friend of the University, these awards are coupled with a $500 cash prize. A committee of faculty and students choose the recipients.
