Columbian College Announces New Fellowship

The Columbian College of Arts and Science (CCAS) announced the creation of The Luther Rice Fellowship to support undergraduate research. Inaugural recipients of the award named after one of the founders of the Columbian College, will begin their research in May and continue through the 2004-05 academic year. The fellowships are part of an ongoing effort by CCAS Dean William Frawley to incorporate research as an integral part of the CCAS undergraduate experience. These fellowships offer rising juniors and seniors the opportunity to initiate a research project and work closely with a faculty mentor to learn proper methods for conducting research in their chosen field. The projects will be presented in a symposium in the spring.
