Mount Vernon Hosts Leadership Summit
The Mount Vernon Alumnae Association
and The Columbian Women of The George Washington University co-sponsored
a womens leadership conference entitled Connections for
the Future April 4, at the Mount Vernon Campus.
The day-long event featured keynote addresses by Mary Naylor, CEO and
founder, VIPdesk, and broadcaster and author Cokie Roberts. The day
included a series of panel discussions on topics of particular interest
to women competing in the professional arena, such as Being a
Successful Woman in Our Global Community, discussing the nuts
and bolts of what it takes to be a female leader in medicine,
law, business (both international and local), politics, education, non-profit
organizations, media and public affairs and Breaking the Glass
Ceiling, about issues involving gender discrimination and bias
in the workplace, among other topics.
