Mount Vernon Hosts Leadership Summit

The Mount Vernon Alumnae Association and The Columbian Women of The George Washington University co-sponsored a women’s leadership conference entitled “Connections for the Future” April 4, at the Mount Vernon Campus.

The day-long event featured keynote addresses by Mary Naylor, CEO and founder, VIPdesk, and broadcaster and author Cokie Roberts. The day included a series of panel discussions on topics of particular interest to women competing in the professional arena, such as “Being a Successful Woman in Our Global Community,” discussing the “nuts and bolts” of what it takes to be a female leader in medicine, law, business (both international and local), politics, education, non-profit organizations, media and public affairs and “Breaking the Glass Ceiling,” about issues involving gender discrimination and bias in the workplace, among other topics.
