GW Athletics Suspends Softball Season

After consultation with the team physician and athletic training staff March 25, athletic department officials found it necessary to suspend the remainder of the women's softball season because the University does not have enough healthy players in key positions to safely complete the spring season. Officials discussed this matter immediately with the team members, and the decision has been communicated to parents, the A-10 league office and other A-10 athletic departments and softball teams.

In a statement about the decision, the athletic department said, “We regret having to make this decision, but the health and well-being of our players is always of paramount concern and had to prevail in this instance.”
