Feldman to Receive Trachtenberg Award

Michael Feldman, professor of engineering and applied science, will be presented with the 2003 Trachtenberg Teaching Award at the Celebration of Teaching Excellence Day, April 4, at 4 pm in GW’s Media and Public Affairs Building, room B07. A reception will follow in the second floor lobby. The University community is invited to attend both the presentation and the reception.

Feldman, who hails from Philadelphia, received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Princeton University and earned MA and PhD degrees in computer and information sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. Feldman joined the GW faculty in 1975, received the Eta Kappa Nu Teacher of the Year Award in 1985, and served as assistant to the vice president for academic affairs from 1986–88.

Winners of the teaching award are nominated by undergraduates, and must be full-time, tenured professors to be eligible.
