Honoring Student Activism

Manatt/Trachtenberg Award to Laud Students Who Push GW’s Social Boundaries

The Hon. Charles T. Manatt, chair of GW’s Board of Trustees, and President Stephen Joel Trachtenberg have established a new award, the Manatt-Trachtenberg Prize, to honor graduating seniors who have roused the University’s social and intellectual conscience through their leadership, competence, integrity and goodwill.

The prize will be presented at GW’s Commencement on the Ellipse May 16.
Students may nominate themselves or other members of the GW community. Submissions should include a personal statement describing the nominee’s impact on the social and intellectual conscience of the University; one student recommendation; one faculty or staff recommendation; the nominee’s resume and a completed nomination form (available in the Student Activities Center, MC 427, as well as in the first floor lobbies of the Academic Center, Marvin Center and Rice Hall). The deadline for nominations is March 22 at 5 pm.

For more information contact the Associate Vice President and Dean of Students Office at 994-6710 or visit its Web site.
