Go Fly a Kite


The 38th Annual Smithsonian Kite Festival: Kites Around the World. The festival will be held March 27 from 10 am to 4 pm. Rain date: March 28. This free event is sponsored by The Smithsonian Associates and the National Air and Space Museum. This year’s theme commemorates kite building and flying from around the world starting with the kite’s development 3,000 years ago in China. Location is on the Mall between 4th and 7th streets.
