Master of Science in Finance Receives Top Ranking

Global Derivatives, an online financial publication, has ranked GW’s Master of Science in Finance (MSF) program No. 1 among pure finance master’s programs and No. 13 among quantitative finance master’s programs.

The rankings are based on research conducted by Global Derivatives and reflect opinions, perspectives and market data, with the aim of forming a guideline for prospective finance students that will act as an alternative to standard MBA program surveys.

Programs were rated on faculty, program and reputation. Faculty ratings are based on the number of faculty with an “international reputation” within the finance field. Program ratings are based on the applicability of courses available, diversity and depth of courses, and overall facilities and teaching.

“The strength of our program is directly related to our faculty, a rigorous curriculum and the quality of our students,” said George Jabbour, director of GW’s MSF program. “Faculty in GW’s MSF program are renowned in their field, respected for their research and often advise governments, international organizations, and firms on financial and economic matters. While many of our students already hold master’s or doctoral degrees in economics, statistics or business, they seek an intensive financial education that only a specialized master’s program, like GW’s MSF, provides.”
