Taiwan Studies Resource Center Opens at Gelman

A ribbon cutting and reception marked the launch of GW’s Taiwan Studies Resource Center, housed in Gelman Library. Made possible by a $100,000 grant from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative’s Office, the center will provide a concrete foundation of materials for academic and policy-related education and research on Taiwan.

The center will build and house a pre-eminent collection of materials in both English and Chinese for the study of and research on Taiwan. While serving as a broad reference library on all aspects of Taiwan society, the center will focus specifically on Taiwan history and contemporary issues such as Taiwan’s democratization, economic development, foreign policy, and cross-strait relations.
