Background
Professor Bartels's research and teaching focuses on American politics, judicial politics, and political methodology. His work examines judicial decision making, the Supreme Court, inter-branch interactions, judicial appointment politics; public opinion, political behavior, and institutional evaluation; and legislative politics. He also analyzes topics related to political methodology. His work is forthcoming or has appeared in American Political Science Review, Journal of Politics, Public Opinion Quarterly, and other outlets.
