Background
Professor Adcock's teaching interests as a political theorist span western thought from the ancient Greeks to contemporary debates, while his research centers on nineteenth- and twentieth-century Anglo-American thought, specifically the history, philosophy, and methods of the social sciences, and their relationship to the evolution of liberalism. He is an editor of Modern Political Science: Anglo-American Exchanges since 1880 (Princeton University Press, 2007), and has published in the American Political Science Review, History of Political Thought, the Journal of Theoretical Politics, and elsewhere.
