BACKGROUND:

The George Washington University Virginia Campus Art Exhibit Series presents "Quilts?" by Rose Rushbrooke. Ms. Rushbrooke has been a professional artist since 1986, originally working in gouaches and now creating studio art quilts constructed with a variety of textiles. Born and educated in England, Ms. Rushbrooke moved to Virginia in 1996, where she started a home-based business creating her one-of-a-kind studio art quilts for exhibition and sale, quilting kit patterns and hand-dyed fabrics. Her work can be seen at fine art exhibitions and galleries, as well as major national quilting and textile shows. Ms. Rushbrooke is also a certified web designer and has her own website at www.roserushbrook.com.

Presented in cooperation with the Loudoun Arts Council, the GW Virginia Campus Art Exhibit Series regularly features a wide range of fine arts and fine crafts by local artists who are chosen by a jury of art professionals. The exhibit calendar includes three special exhibits to showcase works by students from Loudoun County Public Schools, members of the Loudoun Sketch Club, and GW students, faculty and staff. For each exhibit, the GW Virginia Campus hosts a "Meet the Artist" reception. To date, the University has hosted more than 41 artist exhibits.
