Career Development
Career Programs
A number of career programs are available to current graduate students.
Professional Employment Resources/Events
We offer information sessions and career panels throughout the year that represent every sector and field within international affairs. We also hold a mock interview event in the spring which gives students the opportunity to practice their interviewing skills with employers in the field.
During New Student Orientation in the fall, we host site visits for the incoming students which represents a range of employers within the international affairs field.
Opportunity Knocks Career & Information Fair
In addition to on-campus interviews, a career fair is sponsored annually for Elliott School students and alumni. Over 70 companies/agencies/organizations promote their missions and speak with students about prospective employment.
Mock Interviews
As employers report the necessity for good interview techniques, we encourage all job seekers to practice their skills individually, with company representatives, or with a career coach. Telephone interviews are available for practice. We also hold a mock interview day with employers.
Boot Camp
A one-day crash course in job search skills is offered several times a year.
