Community Policing
Under Chicago's community-policing strategy police, community residents and city agencies are active partners in preventing crime. The community supports law enforcement through neighborhood marches and other positive street actions which, according to Chicago mayor Richard Daley, have reduced crime and effected beneficial changes in the community. Liquor Ads on Kids' Web Sites
DoubleClick, Inc. placed ads for Brown-Forman Corp and Finlandia liquor brands on United Media's Comics.com site. DoubleClick says that since it places over 1.5 billion ads on the Internet each day, some mistakes are inevitable.

New Meaning to Kiddie Porn
A survey of E-porn which ranked surfers by age found that 15.3 % of these surfers are 12-17 years old and 2.2% age 2-11! (Newsweek, 6.12.00)

To be Greek is to be . . .
Thousands of Greek Orthodox clerics and followers have demanded that the government retract its decision to remove religious affiliations from citizens' identity cards. Carrying Greek flags and crucifixes and chanting, "Greece is Orthodoxy," they cheered as the head of the Greek Orthodox Church defended the faith as indivisibly bound with the country's identity.
