The Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics Founder's Prize
An anonymous donor has pledged $2500 a year for the next five years for the SASE Founder's Prize. This award is given to writers who augment, criticize, or challenge the work of Amitai Etzioni, the founder of SASE. This year's prize will be awarded to papers presented at the 11th Annual Meeting on Socio-Economics Madison, Wisconsin. To be eligible papers must be presented at the 1999 SASE meeting. New Publications

The Second Edition of The Angry American: How Voter Rage is Changing the Nation by Susan Tolchin, was recently published by Westview Press.

Soul Work: Finding the Work You Love, Loving the Work You Have by Deborah P. Bloch and Lee Richmond was published in the fall by Davies-Black (Consulting Psychologists Press). This book examines the concept of careers within the context of seven themes, including community.

International Communitarian Projects:

The UK Communitarian Forum has launched a new initiative in conjunction with the Local Government Association, tentatively called Citizenship 21, which will promote new ideas and effective practices for participating in society.
