Engineering Associate Dean Appointed

School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) Dean Timothy Tong named Professor Robert J. Harrington associate dean for academic affairs. Harrington succeeds Douglas L. Jones, who served “in an exemplary manner, leading the school during a critical period of growth,” said Tong.

Harrington has served as a professor in SEAS since 1980 and brings a wealth of administrative experience to the position. He chaired the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department from 1991–94 and he has been an active member of GW’s Faculty Senate much of his time at the University.

“I am excited that the school will have Professor Harrington’s leadership in this capacity,” Tong said following the appointment. “I ask you to join me in congratulating him in assuming his new responsibility.”
