Applying to GW
Applying is the most important first step toward starting your GW experience. We have provided you with everything you need to know about applying to GW as an undergraduate, graduate student, or applicant to one of the professional programs. You will also find information about student financial assistance and loan programs.
Undergraduate Admissions: Visit the Undergraduate Admissions Web site to apply online to the
University, review our list of majors and special academic programs, experience
student life, view our residence halls, plan a visit to our campuses, and
learn about student financial assistance opportunities and loan programs.
Graduate Admissions: Through the Graduate Admissions Web site, you will be able to apply to a graduate degree program, learn about fellowships and loans, and more. Graduate study at The George Washington University includes certificate, master's, and doctoral programs offered on-campus, at locations throughout the Washington metropolitan area, Maryland, and Virginia, and through distance education.
Summer Programs: Visit the Summer Programs web site to learn more about the large menu of regular offerings athat are available in the summer. Other summer programs include Summer Abroad, Distance Learning, and Summer in DC offerings.
Law School: The Law School offers an international dimension that reflects the global
nature of society and the law. J.D. admissions information online includes
requirements, process information, FAQ, entering class profile, and recruitment
events. Request an application online.
School of Medicine & Health Sciences (SMHS): Visit the SMHS Web site to apply to the M.D. program and review entry requirements, financial assistance information, important dates,
interviews, and FAQ. Detailed information about each of the Graduate Medical Education Residency programs is also available. GW opened a brand new, state-of-the-art hospital,
offering our students the opportunity to practice their clinical skills on
the most sophisticated medical equipment available. This high-tech learning
environment complements our nationally recognized classroom curriculum, creating
a unique medical education.
Information on the school's Health Sciences Degree and Certificate Programs is also available including requirements and admission deadlines.
In addition, the school offers a Master's Program in Genomics and Bioinformatics, as well as a Ph.D. program in the Institute for Biological Sciences.
School of Public Health & Health Services (SPHHS): All the information you need to apply for admission to the SPHHS can be found
in the admissions application online. The School of Public Health and
Health Services combines public health (including exercise science), health services management, and health policy creating, with
the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, a unique, comprehensive academic
health center.
Other Programs: Students who
wish to take courses on a non-degree basis should visit the Office of University Students.
Student Financial Assistance (Graduate/Undergraduate): The Office of Student Financial Assistance coordinates the awarding of scholarships, grants, activity awards, and federal funding for undergraduate students including the student loan program for graduate students.

Web site includes information on scholarships, fellowships, assistantships,
research appointments, departmental/school funding, outside/campus part-time
employment.

- Parking is available for students at both Foggy Bottom and Mount Vernon campuses. Parking rates vary by location and parking plan.
- The GW Bookstore - buy books, computers, GW clothing, residence hall supplies, and more online.
