Lecture Series
The "How Do I Become A..." lecture series is designed to expose the University community to various careers by bringing distinguished alumni back to GW. The program is sponsored by the GW Alumni Association, Career Center, and Class Council.
These events are FREE and open to students, alumni, and the GW community. Although there is no cost to attend the lectures, please register your attendance in advance.

HOW DO I BECOME A PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICER?
Join Kenneth Moritsugu, SMHS MD '71, former Deputy Surgeon General, for the next installment of the How Do I Become A... lecture series. The Surgeon General serves as America's chief health educator by providing Americans the best scientific information available on how to improve their health and reduce the risk of illness and injury.

HOW DO I BECOME A CAMPAIGN MANAGER?
Beth Leonard, GSPM MA '02, spoke about all the behind-the-scenes adventures during her time as presidential state director for the Kerry-Edwards campaign. Leonard is the senior director of public affairs, overseeing grassroots at America's Health Insurance Plans. Prior, Leonard served as the campaign manager for the Mayor of Boston, and acted as the Ohio field director for the Kerry-Edwards presidential campaign. She began her career working as an intern in Tipper Gore's White House office.

HOW DO I BECOME A HOLLYWOOD SCREENWRITER?
What does it take to make it as a writer in Tinseltown? Alumnus Jason Filardi, CCAS BA '93, shared his experiences writing and script doctoring for Hollywood's biggest studios. His credits include the 2003 comedy, Bringing Down the House, featuring Steve Martin and Queen Latifah, the thriller Drum, as well as, the soon-to-be-released comedy Seventeen Again with Matthew Perry, Zac Efron, and Leslie Mann.
